A Luxury Facial for a Member by Jennifer Speros, Fresh Beauty by Jen

As many of you know, our association held our annual networking while shopping event in December. We hosted 20 local vendors who sold their services and products to provide us with a unique mini-shopping experience, and also provided drawing items for our attendees.

Jennifer Speros with Fresh Beauty by Jen, shared her tempting list of spa services and her remarkable beauty products at the event, and Amber Dixon recently indulged in a facial that kept her wanting more. We met with Amber Dixon so that she would share her experience with us.

Interview between Mandy Aguirre, Utah WIFS 2013-14 President, and Amber Dixon:

Amber:  I have had many spa treatments ranging from massages to facials over the years so I had high expectations for this facial. Jennifer did not disappoint. In fact, she became my favorite aesthetitican very quickly.

Amber:  I have been experiencing a lot of added stress this past month and was in desperate need of some pampering. I was very impressed with Jennifer while she was participating as a vendor at Utah WIFS’ annual vendor event, and I finally had the chance to experience her amazing service.

Although I have had facials in the past at some great spa’s, I wanted something more intimate and her personality and knowledge surpassed what I had experienced from the other individuals I received treatments from.

Mandy: You spoke about a more “intimate” environment, what was your experience that had you instantly fall in “love” with Fresh Beauty by Jen?

Mandy:  You are definitely enthusiastic and understandably so. Tell me more about your facial and take us through your experience.

Amber:  Jennifer had me fill out a questionnaire that provided her with all of the information she needed to know which products to use on my face including any of my sensitivities, my troubled areas, what product I was current using and how, and medications/surgeries that may be affecting my skin. She was very thorough and asked questions to clarify which confirmed that I was in the hands of a professional.

She then had me lay down on the very comfortable table and she dimmed the lights for a truly relaxing effect. She cleansed my face, worked on my troubled areas, massaged my feet and hands, and I felt like all of my stress was leaving my body. I’ll admit that I did not want it to end!

She then gave me samples of the products she used to take home and I cannot wait to return!

Amber: Unequivocally yes! In fact, I already have. I got home and immediately posted my experience to all of my Facebook connections, called my family, and will continue to spread the word about why everyone should experience the services of Fresh Beauty by Jen.

Mandy: Is there anything additional you would like to add?

Amber:  Yes! I have been struggling with a dry and flaky forehead for more than a month and nothing seemed to fix it. Since my facial I have not had the problem! NO FLAKY FOREHEAD! That is the best reward! It looked horrible, I was frustrated, but it is now fixed. Thank you Jen!

A Winner’s Experience with Image Consultant, Eugenia Battaglia Coram

Eugenia Battaglia Coram Awards December Attendee, Debbie Engebretsen, with a Wardrobe Consultation of Her…CLOSET!

As many of you know, our association held our annual networking while shopping event in December. We hosted 20 local vendors who sold their services and products to provide us with a unique mini-shopping experience, and also provided drawing items for our attendees.

Eugenia Battaglia Coram, Image and Wardrobe Consultant, shared her expertise and dynamic style at the event, and also provided a free consultation for one lucky winner. Debbie Engebretsen was the lucky recipient of the consultation and met with us to share her experience.

Interview between Amber Dixon, Utah WIFS President, and Debbie Engebretsen, Drawing Winner:

Amber:  Debbie, have you ever worked with a wardrobe coach before? If no, what was the deciding factor to work with Eugenia?

Debbie:  No, I have never worked with a wardrobe coach before.  My introduction to Eugenia was when she did a presentation at a networking event.  I knew that at some point I wanted her to work with me, so when I won the consultation in a drawing I was thrilled!

Amber:  What was the process Eugenia took you through?

Debbie:  Eugenia came [to my home] and went through my winter clothes – as that is the season we are in.  She went through everything one at a time, and had me try on some of the clothing to make sure they fit properly.  If I hadn’t worn anything in the past 6 months to a year she discarded it.

Some of my clothes weren’t of the best quality and she suggested I replace them, but if I couldn’t replace them right away, she had me keep them after I promised to replace them as soon as I could.

We discussed my profession, my ideal market, and who I am marketing myself to. These were all taken into consideration as Eugenia considered my wardrobe needs and changes.

Amber:  What were the top three tips you learned from Eugenia?

Debbie:  Be picky as to what I allow in my closet. As I am petite, I need to wear clothes that are form-fitting. Wear color!  Dress more youthful.

Amber:  Have you implemented these tips you learned from Eugenia? If so, which one was the biggest change you chose?

Debbie:  Yes! I am adding color to my wardrobe and only purchasing quality clothing – as it is the end of the season I am finding things on sale, which is great!

Amber:  What was your overall experience with Eugenia?

Debbie:  My experience was great!  The closet consultation is only the first step.  She also goes shopping with clients.  She starts with whatever your clothing budget is – even if it is only $100.

Amber:  Would you recommend Eugenia to your friends? If so, what would you tell them?

Debbie:  I would definitely recommend Eugenia to others.  I would tell them to open themselves up  to her suggestions.  Don’t clean out your closet before she comes, allow her to go through everything.  It will be painful, but you will appreciate it in the end!

Amber:  Will you give us a brief synopsis of Eugenia’s professionalism and methods?

Debbie:  Eugenia was very kind, but very direct.  Going through someone’s closet is very personal, but she was very sweet about how she went about this.  Be open to Eugenia’s suggestions.  She is only wanting to make you your best.

Amber:  Anything else you would like to share about Eugenia and her, what appears to be, amazing service?

Debbie:  We need to always feel at our best and our clothes are a huge part of that.  Never again will I purchase clothing that doesn’t fit the parameters set for me.  Eugenia has a great talent for taking what is a very personal, and could be a very difficult experience, and make it a building opportunity.  I may not have much in my closet anymore, but it is all items I am using and wearing.

Everyone needs to spend time with Eugenia to get clear on what they are needing (or not needing) in their wardrobe.

Amber:  Thank you Debbie for taking the time to answer some questions, and thank you Eugenia for making a difference!

Discovered 20+ Unique Christmas Gifts!

December 11, 2012:

Today Utah WIFS (https://utahwifs.wordpress.com/) held its annual Networking While Shopping event, and it was a HUGE success! I have been on the board since I co-founded the association in 2009 and this is my last December vendor event that I will be organizing. Although I have enjoyed putting on these events, I am looking forward to being only a shopper next year! With that said, I know I got a lot of holiday shopping done today, and many other attendees did too.

The 20 local Utah vendors who participated were amazing and I look forward to shopping with them for many years to come. My shopping purchases included:

  • A Minky & More throw. Oh my! It is so soft and luxurious that my 11-year-old son stole it from me as soon as he found it. He is cuddling with it now. I think everyone needs one because they are washer-friendly and, dare I say it again, amazing!
Minky & More....everyone needs one from every where!
Minky & More….everyone needs one from every where!
  • doTERRA oils! Oh wow. I am so excited to have my doTERRA oils again. I use the lavender on my pillow, lemon in my cleaning products, and peppermint for headaches and so much more. I love these essential oils, and they are a huge supporter of Utah WIFS!
  • Choffy! Although I do love my coffee, this is actually a healthy, 100% premium cacao that is a superfood. Yes, cacao is spelled right but is also known as “cocoa beans.” I bought a blend and a mug that is also a coffee press! How cool is that?
  • Lipstick from Glamour Connection that lasts all day long and is fantastic. I generally do not go bold because of the environment I work in, but that is going to change after consulting with Leta Greene! I must admit that I looked pretty fabulous in the new shade during the event.
  • Chocolates for my neighbors and friends. I bought so much chocolate that I already feel the holiday pounds adding on, but then I realized I bought them as gifts so I see my neighbors actually with the pounds (kidding of course.) These Creamium Chocolates are not like any I have tasted before, and trust me I am a chocolate lover!

Creamium Chocolates. How can you go wrong with this gift? You can't!

  • Who knew Scentsy was more than wickless candles? I not only bought my wickless candle refills, but also bought soap, lotions, and a car freshener! So excited.
  • I also, of course, donated to the Helping Kids with Cancer foundation that is very personal for me. My son’s friend, Tomas, was diagnosed at only 8 years old and lived only a couple of days after his 10th birthday. No one should experience cancer in the family; especially at an incredibly young age.

So many more vendors were present. You can view them all at: https://utahwifs.wordpress.com/december-2012-event/ and help support these amazing companies.

Again, although I am left with many positive memories of being President of Utah WIFS, I am also excited to see how the chapter grows with the amazing incoming President, Mandy Aguirre. She will be fantastic I am sure, and I can enjoy the monthly events as a spectator.

Season Greeting’s everyone!

–Amber, Utah WIFS President

Be Like a Pencil

Be like a pencil!

We all need to be constantly sharpened. This parable may encourage you to know that you are a special person, with unique talents and abilities. Only you can fulfill the purpose which you were born to accomplish. Never allow yourself to get discouraged and think that your life is insignificant and cannot be changed and, like the pencil, always remember that the most important part of who you are, is what’s inside of you.
